Steve83, United States of America (Reviewer Ranking: 3) wrote this review on August 20, 2006:

Terry Gilliam's second attempt at a Hollywood movie didn't score much better at the box office than his first (Brazil), but the blame falls FAR from his feet. If this movie had been marketed half as well as "My Little Pony", it probably would have been a blockbuster.

Among the dizzying array of scenery, situations, and storylines, watch for the ingots of performance from such stars as Uma Thurman, Oliver Reed, Eric Idle, Sting, Robin Williams, and even a brief musical interlude by the director himself!

A classical framed story, this movie is a fantasy within a fantasy about a hero who returns to save his city, only to be confounded by bureaucracy and rationality. An engaging story for young & old that deserves to be enjoyed & celebrated.
